Empowering businesses to get online
Since 2008, Airsquare has been helping people all over the world to streamline their online business. We offer an affordable website with ecommerce, enabling you to sell products, tickets and memberships online, with integrated point-of-sale and accounting software to make life easy.
The early days
Airsquare’s founder is Dave Quested, a computer science graduate who has worked for design agencies in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. In 2007, whilst travelling and freelancing, Dave realised that many businesses were looking for an affordable, off-the-shelf website solution. What if people could create their own website and have everything - ecommerce, email newsletters, blog, event ticketing, POS - all within one system? And so, Airsquare was born!
To the cloud and beyond
Dave got into code-mode and built Airsquare over the next few years, before taking some time out for an adventure - In 2011, he and his partner, Clare, hiked the entire length of New Zealand, raising money for charity. Five months hiking gave them ample opportunity to make big plans! Over the next year, Airsquare based themselves in beautiful Nelson, NZ and became part of the cloud, available to anyone who wanted to sign up online. They branched into ecommerce, mobile apps, POS, event ticketing and memberships. And made some actual babies in between. Phew!
Airsquare is growing
Partnerships with amazing marketing teams around NZ have been symbiotic and have allowed Airsquare to grow, whilst providing those teams with a trustworthy, NZ-based website solution to offer their clients.
Since 2014, Airsquare has worked with our local technical institute, NMIT, providing computer science internships. It feels good for Dave to share his expertise and the partnership is mutually beneficial: NMIT has provided us with great design graduate contractors, and our first employee, Callum, who joined Airsquare in 2021.

We love the great outdoors and life in New Zealand and we thrive on the challenge of running our business. Our aim is to innovate, to grow our business (and yours!) and to nurture the next generation of web creators along the way.
Meet the team
Dave Quested
Dave founded Airsquare and is our tech-whizz. Dave's been working in the web industry since 1999, after completing a degree in Computer Science. He has worked on large-scale projects in the UK, Australia and New Zealand - most notably with Tourism New Zealand and Tourism Queensland. Dave is also a fully-fledged adventure racer and when he’s not in code-mode, he is training for his next adventure race in the hills or on the sea, or enjoying the chilled-out Nelson lifestyle with his two young boys.
Clare Wade
Clare completed a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and worked in both the public and private sectors for 9 years, before a career change was due. She immersed herself in all things ‘web’, completed a business course and dived right into Airsquare in 2011. She loves developing the business, working with clients and is currently enjoying upskilling in web design. When she’s not out adventuring with her two energetic young boys, Clare loves to hike, bike, read or create.
Callum McFadgen
Callum grew up in the Nelson region, where he worked for 15 years in the hospitality industry before returning to study. He completed a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, majoring in software development. During his studies, Callum undertook an internship with Airsquare before joining the team as a Web Developer in 2021.
Callum takes great satisfaction in creating practical, user-focussed software.
When he’s not behind a computer, he’s getting stuck into some gardening or is out and about with his partner, enjoying the sights and sounds of Nelson and Tasman.
