One of the things that I most enjoy about being involved in Airsquare is the variety of people we get to meet.

We were delighted that local artist Chris Finlayson decided to use Airsquare to create his new website. Chris is one of New Zealand's leading mural artists. We have admired his work (particularly his Aotearoa mural - pictured below) in Nelson and it was really inspiring to learn more about his work.

As well as creating murals, Chris uses 'pyrotechnique', a unique method of drawing with fire; he also produces fine art for exhibition, sale & commission.

Chris used the Airsquare 'image gallery widget' to showcase his art work and also uses the blog module to keep his website updated with news about his latest projects.

Chris is currently involved in the Riverside Murals Project, creating murals along the Maitai walkway in Nelson. This Nelson Mail article also suggests that he would be just the man to create murals to revamp the 'ugliest building in the southern hemisphere' - the Civic building in Nelson. I couldn't agree more. It's a big ask to make that building more pretty, but I'd say Chris has some great ideas tucked away in his creative brain!

Visit Chris Finlayson's website to view more of his amazing work. I love this blog post, which shows before & after shots of some of his projects - he's clearly a genius. Enjoy!
